Coronado Central Beach runs along Ocean Boulevard with a back drop of fine homes and mansions. Beach accessible wheelchairs are available to the public, free of charge, at the Central Beach Lifeguard Tower. North Beach is the only dog friendly beach in the area and frequented by locals and their canine companions. Silver Strand State Beach is located 4.5 miles south of Coronado Village along the Silver Strand. An underpass allows access to bay side beach and picnic area and Loews Coronado Bay Resort. From the 5 freeway just south of downtown San Diego, take the Coronado Bridge over the bay to Coronado Island. The bridge lets out onto to 3rd Street. Enjoy a wide selection of specialty shops, galleries and restaurants with fabulous views of downtown San Diego. There is also a bay front bike path, sandy beach and fishing pier. Catch the passenger ferry for the 20-minute trip across the bay to San Diego’s waterfront attractions. Enjoy concerts starting at 1pm on Sundays year round, Saturdays as well during the summer.
