Navajo Loop Canyon

Navajo Loop Canyon Navajo Trail begins at Sunset Point and travels down into the main amphitheater. This is one of the more popular trails and extra caution is advised due to the fact that more rocks fall on this trail than any other trail in the park. This trail may also be combined with the Queens Garden Trail which will create a longer, but more varied, loop. The most popular trail in Bryce Canyon National Park, the Navajo Loop Trail takes visitors down the rim from Sunset Point, through the narrow corridors of Wall Street. The Navajo Lake Loop Trail is an intermediate technical single-track loop running around Navajo Lake near Brian Head. The trail is located at 9100 feet altitude in cool pine, fir, and aspen forest. The trail base is mostly packed dirt, with a little cinder riding over the lava flow at the east end of the lake. The ride is 11.5 miles; total climbing only about 200 feet vertical. It's fairly easy aerobic, with almost all of the climbing in the first 1.5 miles. The first section of the trail climbs towards the Virgin River Rim. Navajo Trail begins at Sunset Point and loops down into the main amphitheater and back in 1.3 miles. There is a 2.2 mile option that starts-ends at Sunrise-Sunset points, with a 0.5 mile rim trail connector. Winter hiking may require snow shoe or shoe chains.
