Your home is your sanctuary. It is also a place you can share with family and friends. Making your home all it can be while maintaining it can be a big job, but there are little things you can do to take an average setting and make it fantastic. In today’s blog, we’re going to share some of our favorite tips.

Details to Take Your Home to the Next Level

Fluffy towels

  • It’s the little things that make all the difference, and there’s nothing like burying your face in a fluffy white towel that you pulled off a luxurious stack. Remember that towels hanging from a rack have a significant impact on the feel of a room. Dark towels will make the room feel smaller and dimmer. White towels will make the room feel more fresh and light like it’s a spa. You can save money on towels by grabbing them on sale.

Lanterns

  • When you want to add some elegance to a space, try a lantern or two. They shine indoors and outdoors and can be found at pretty much any price point. Don’t settle until you find lanterns that fit your budget. Once you do, the possibilities are endless! You can hang them above the dining room table, flank doorways with them, or transform your porch.

Bonus pillows

  • If your bed only features regular pillows, you can transform it with a couple big pillows and maybe a lumbar pillow across the front to finish it off. Just make sure you don’t go overboard. Putting too many decorative pillows on your bed can make it annoying to try to get into bed.

Topiary

  • Green makes any space more comfortable, and you don’t have to invest in living plants if you don’t want to. Topiaries are compact, neat, and elegant. If you don’t want to deal with watering and trimming, you can find fake topiaries that look absolutely real.

Statement mirror

  • If you’re looking for something that will change the feel of an entire room, there’s nothing like a statement mirror. You get the space- and light-enhancing benefits of a mirror along with a little extra style. We recommend you take the time to look for a unique piece. There is no reason to settle for a basic frame when you can find a sunburst shape, a gold leaf mirror, or Venetian glass.

Long curtains

  • When you mount curtains as high as possible and still have extra material that puddles on the floor, you can make practically any space look grand. You want your curtains to look full, so use twice as many panels for that custom look.

Subtle colors

  • Pale colors get a lot of work done without needing a lot of work and attention. By painting the ceiling and the walls the same color, you create a soothing background for your furniture, textiles, and decorations.

Orchids

You don’t have to pay through the nose for these beautiful, exotic flowers unless you want to. It is easy enough to find affordable flowers in the grocery store if you’re watchful. Amazing things can happen when you combine multiple orchids in a single planter. The best thing about these plants is that they don’t require a lot of care. They usually bloom in winter, which can be that nice bit of cheer you need when the weather is cold. However, other orchids have been trained to bloom at different times of the year, so you can make sure you always have blooms.

Tiny tables

  • Tucking in small tables beside armchairs makes them more inviting and provide a convenient place to set a book or drink. Choose tables with transparent tops or small legs to prevent the room from feeling overcrowded.

Great outdoor furniture

  • There isn’t anything more luxurious than having “real” furniture outside. Don’t settle for wood or metal furniture if you don’t have to. Many companies make outdoor furniture that looks like indoor furniture, except it features tougher fabric and batting that dries faster. If you need to save money, invest in some used outdoor furniture and recover its cushions in a beautiful outdoor fabric.
