Green Door Wrapped Canvas Prints

Green Door Wrapped Canvas Prints The sun is relentless, stalking me along the narrow, cobbled lanes of Alamos, as return to the hotel. You can see the heavy double doors and walk into the lush, untamed courtyard, where weather-pocked stone cherubs guard a center fountain and rocking chairs sit motionless beneath electric ceiling fans. The economy of Álamos, after a heyday lasting from the late 1600s until the early 1900s with the closing of the mines, went into decline. Only a few hundred people remained in the once vibrant city due to a major decline in silver prices, ongoing unrest in the country with a revolution in progress and the exodus of business owners and people of wealth. A tourist destination in the winter, it would be disgustingly hot and accordingly devoid of visitors in June. The drive almost dumps you into the main square, the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by coffee houses, shops, restaurants, city hall, tourist office and the quaint church. The Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepcion built in the early 19th century, has the traditional exterior look of worn stone silently weathering countless decades, while the interior has a starkly simple, almost contemporary, design. Alamos is known as La Ciudad de los Portales portales are tall, arched, covered verandas or walkways fronting many of the cobble-stoned streets or calles. Alamos boasts numerous buildings exhibiting classic Andalusian architecture from Colonial period, including numerous mansions, the Plaza de Armas, the Church of La Purísima Concepcion, La Capilla and the Palacio Municipal.
