Launiupoko Palm Wall Art Prints
It is no surprise that Launiupoko Beach Park becomes a playground for local festivities and social gatherings on the weekends. There's even a shallow children's swimming area along the shore enclosed by a manmade rock wall. Families and friends can enjoy all of this while having the opportunity to surf one of the West Side's most popular beginning breaks. Launiupoko is located on the west side of Maui, just minutes south of the town of Lahaina. It is home to the Launiupoko State Wayside Park, which can be found off the Honoapiilani Highway. This park has a large grassy area that is perfect for picnicking, a sandy beach, children’s wading pool, restrooms and showers. Located on the west side of Maui just outside of Lahaina Town, this beach is great for families, sunbathers, laid-back vacationers and anyone else who's longing to relax. Visitors can park their blankets on grass or sand, according to preference. The waves near the shore are gentle; snorkeling is good in the mornings. Much further out you can often see some surfers. Facilities include picnic tables, barbecues and restrooms. Whether you're perched atop a long board or lounging in a beach chair, the view of the West Maui Mountains across the highway is unbeatable. Rainbows are often spotted, dipping down from the clouds and into the valleys and cliff sides of green. Bring plenty of sunscreen and a stocked cooler for a full beach day. Launiupoko has very little traffic and therefore is a great place for walking and bicycling. Other recreational activities include golf, fishing, horseback riding, snorkeling and diving, kayaking, boating, sailing and windsurfing. Other points of interest near Launiupoko include the Maui Sugar Cane Train and the West Maui Forest Reserve.
