Lost Valley Photos on Canvas
Lost Valley Trail is a 2.3 mile out and back trail that features a 53 ft. tall waterfall, a natural bridge, caves, a 30ft. waterfall inside the cave, large boulders and more. The area is jammed pack of scenic wonders on a easy trail. This trail begins at the Lost Valley campground and terminates in a cave 1 1/2 miles up the valley. Features include waterfalls, a cascading creek, towering cliffs, a large bluff shelter, a natural bridge, spring wildflowers and a hardwood forest containing American beech. The cave itself is a tight squeeze for approximately 200 feet ending in a large room with a 35-foot-tall waterfall. Clark Creek, like most tributaries to the Buffalo River, tends to dry up or go underground during the late summer and early fall of most years. The trail then climbs steeply to the mouth of the cave. You will need reliable lights if you plan to explore the cave. Go horseback riding on the beach, visit a nearby waterfall, laze by the pool with a good book, feed crocodiles in the wild, race over trails in your rented ATV, ride the rapids when you go whitewater rafting, or zip through the forest canopy on a zip line and harness. At the end of the day, you’ll be well-rested from that afternoon massage on your balcony and ready to hit the town for a great dinner, drinks, and dancing; the nightlife in Jaco Beach is plentiful.
