Oregon Coast

Oregon Coast The Oregon Coast is Oregon's number one tourist destination. People come from all over to enjoy the scenic beauty, historical sites and wide variety of recreation opportunities. The once thriving logging and fishing industries are slowly being replaced by increasing retirement and tourism. People are drawn by the moderate temperature, sandy beaches, numerous attractions and more than 80 state parks and recreation areas. The Oregon Coast is a region of the U.S. state of Oregon. It runs generally north–south along the Pacific Ocean, forming the western border of the state; the region is bounded to the east by the Oregon Coast Range. The Oregon Coast stretches approximately 363 miles from the Columbia River in the north to the California state border in the south. The Oregon Coast includes Clatsop County, Tillamook County, Lincoln County, western Lane County, western Douglas County, Coos County, and Curry County. All 363 miles of the Oregon Coast are free and open to all of us. You can sandboard or dune buggy the sand dunes down south, or hit your way out of a sand trap inside the best public golf resort in America. You can investigate its tide pools, hike up its cliffs or down through ancient old-growth forests to discover its hidden surf spots. You can hunt for agates, or beach-comb, or build forts from washed-up driftwood. Getting places on the Oregon Coast is easy. Highway 101 stretches the entire coast, 363 miles long from Washington to California, passing through quaint tourist towns like Cannon Beach, large cities like Coos Bay and small communities like Manzanita.
