Santa Barbara Lighthouse was a lighthouse in California, United States, on the Santa Barbara Harbor, California. Popping out any where from thirty to seventy-five coconuts per year, palms trees spread pretty easily on its own. Aerodynamic these trees can stand up to very high winds and are extremely flexible and do not easily fall. This tree thrives here on the island and makes such a beautiful sunset landscape. It requires lots of sunlight, rain, and a sandy base of the ideal conditions for growth. The coconut seeds had to travel thousands of miles to reach Hawaii. Tied to the boats, being water resistant, and able to float, they made the journey easily. Nets would simply be tied to the boat with the seeds pulled along. Selecting a site for Santa Barbara Lighthouse was considered a “matter of some delicacy” by lighthouse authorities, as they wanted the light to serve the dual purpose of a seacoast light and a harbor light. Municipal authorities of Santa Barbara, realizing the benefit of a navigational aid for their community, conveyed the necessary land gratis, provided that it did not exceed thirty acres. The Lighthouse provides a healthy, safe, and sober living environment for men. The diseases of alcoholism and drug abuse have no economic or sociological boundaries. Anyone can get off-course and find himself drowning in a world of drugs and alcohol. Our purpose at The Lighthouse is to provide a safe haven for men seeking a clean and sober lifestyle. Our goal is to help transition these men back into our community as alcohol and drug free citizens. We hope The Lighthouse serves as a stepping-stone in that direction.
